Old Brisbee Schoolhouse

A photograph of the original Brisbee school house is preserved in the Bookmobile Archives. At the turn of the century, Brisbee students learned their lessons in this one-room, windowless cabin. In the winter, it was heated by a pot-bellied stove.

Most of the students went through all eight grades before leaving school to begin their adult lives. Many continued their education in neighboring communities.

Several descendents of those original settlers still live in Brisbee. Some of them remember their parents and grandparents reminiscing about "the old schoolhouse".

This jigsaw puzzle was created from a copy of the original photograph.

Have fun!
